Wine-crush-chiller

PREMIUM WINE CRUSH & STORAGE FACILITY. The operation is set to have 1.1 million gallons in stainless-steel tank storage in pre-engineered metal building, allowing for crushing 5,000 to 6,000 tons of grapes annually in a 120 foot by 20 foot outside crushpad.

Project Objective
One of the biggest constraints for vintners and growers in the region year over year is a lack of available storage capacity at wineries to receive more grapes, what some called “tank lock.” These type of facilities allows vintners to continue the crush well past their facilities capacity.

Customer Issues

  • Major risk is poor crop year
  • Over production of grapes where off-site Storage capacity is still not large enough

Project Scope & Results

  • 200 ton Air Cooled Chiller was rented for Complete crush season of 4 months.
  • Crops were at an all time high this year and forced the customers hand to re-rent another chiller (150 ton, 2 weeks) 2 days after original chiller was picked up.
